Shaping minds, building futures. Education isn’t just a career path, it’s a calling. It’s the spark that lights imaginations, unlocks potential, and changes lives. Every inspiring teacher, every breakthrough moment in a classroom, every student who dares to dream bigger, that’s the power of education at work. At its heart, education is about people. It’s about guiding young minds, supporting their growth, and preparing them to take on the world with confidence and compassion. From playful early learning to the pivotal high school years, educators help shape the future one lesson at a time. At Emeris, we prepare passionate changemakers with both the heart and the know-how to make an impact. With a curriculum rooted in both theory and practice, our programmes blend subjects like curriculum design, educational psychology, and inclusive teaching so you can not only teach, but truly inspire.
Make a difference where it matters most. Few careers carry the kind of lasting, wide-reaching impact that teaching does. When you become an educator, you become part of a lifelong journey, not just for yourself, but for every learner you support along the way.
In South Africa and across the globe, there is an ongoing demand for qualified, dedicated teachers. Choosing to study education is both a calling and a career move: one that offers stability, personal fulfilment, and global relevance.
Whether your goal is to teach young learners in the Foundation Phase or to specialise in curriculum development or school leadership, an education qualification opens the door to meaningful and rewarding career pathways.
The Bachelor of Education (BEd) is a professional undergraduate degree designed to prepare students to become qualified, registered teachers. Unlike a general Bachelor’s degree (such as a BA or BSc) followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), the BEd offers a focused and comprehensive foundation in teaching right from the start.
At Emeris, the IIE Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching is specifically developed for those who want to work with young children in Grades R to 3 - a critical developmental stage where the groundwork for future learning is laid. The IIE Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase Teaching programme focuses on developing confident teachers who can build strong subject knowledge while supporting learners’ continued growth and independence.
