Biography

Dr. Wilhelm Neuland started his career as a Combat Officer in the South African Navy in 2001.  He obtained a BMil (Stellenbosch) degree in 2005, after which he served as Assistant Weapons Officer and Navigation Officer on Strike Craft until 2011.  In 2007-2008 he served as an exchange officer with the French Navy onboard the helicopter carrier Jeanne d’Arc, specializing in anti-submarine warfare.  He resigned his commission in 2014 and in 2015 became primary lecturer for Strategic Management (Hons) at UNISA, also obtaining his MBL (UNISA) during the same year.  During 2018-2019 he was Head Business Coach at Siyakha Implementation Partners.  He earned his DBL at Unisa (GSBL) in 2022.  His thesis is titled “Reformed Curatorship as a strategic approach to resource vulnerability reduction in the South African wine industry.”  Formerly the Deputy Dean: Brand Management at IIEVega, he is currently appointed as Senior Researcher at Vega School, Emeris.  He specialises in strategic management, leadership and critical management studies, and is the Head of Programme of the MCom in Strategic Brand Leadership in the Postgraduate Research Centre, Emeris.
