Biography
Dr Shamola Pramjeeth is the Deputy Dean in the School of Management within the Faculty of Commerce at Emeris. She is responsible for the academic management and success of the higher certificates, hospitality and services and honours qualifications within the school across 10 campuses. Shamola is a seasoned academic with over 20 years of experience in academia. Her career spans academia and industry, allowing her to bring a wealth of industry knowledge and practical experience into her classroom. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing and Business Management, a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Marketing, a Master of Commerce in Management, and a PhD in Leadership. Shamola is a published author, lecturer, supervisor and external examiner for Masters and PhD dissertations and a reviewer for academic conferences and accredited DHET journals. Shamola’s research interests include management, marketing, leadership, sustainability, higher education teaching, learning, and AI. To date, Shamola has published 31 accredited journal articles and 3 papers in conference proceedings and 5 book chapters. Her current research projects are looking into leadership in higher education during disruptive times and generative artificial intelligence in higher education.
