Biography

Reece's research interests are primarily concentrated on the Internet of Things (IoT). He is deeply engaged in exploring the practical, real-world applications of IoT technology to devise robust solutions for complex problems. His work is not just theoretical; it involves designing and implementing systems that can operate in diverse, challenging environments. This ranges from developing IoT solutions for resource management in remote areas, such as deserts, to optimising urban logistics, such as streamlining on-campus parking. He is motivated by IoT's potential to drive efficiency and provide novel, data-driven insights.

Complementing this technical focus, Reece holds a strong interest in mental health. This passion was formalised during his master's degree, during which his research centred on practitioners' perceptions of e-therapy. This study investigated the adoption and effectiveness of digital therapeutic interventions. This work naturally extends to his enjoyment of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), as he is keen to understand and improve how people interact with the very technologies designed to help them. This dual focus on advanced systems (IoT) and user-centric design (HCI and IOT) equips him with a unique, holistic perspective.
