Biography

Portia Webb is an emerging scholar in the field of researcher development and vocational psychology. Her research journey began with a narrative literature review exploring the factors that influence researchers within private higher education institutions. Building on this foundation, she is preparing for her PhD application by conducting two bibliometric analyses that examine trends and gaps in the literature, with a particular focus on faculty experiences. Portia also contributes to theoretical advancements in career development as a co-author on an article introducing Personality-Interest Motivational Sequences (PIMS), a dynamic framework for predicting academic and career trajectories, with a second related paper currently in progress. In addition to her research, Portia plays a strategic role in fostering a strong research culture on her campus. Collaborating with the Head Academic, she leads initiatives that advance the institutional research agenda and create an environment that supports scholarly engagement and innovation.
