Biography

My academic background is in library and information science. I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education qualification where I have learnt about approaches in education, curriculum development as well as teaching and learning strategies. These have equipped me with the necessary skills especially in designing and delivering meaningful information literacy sessions. I have collaborated with academics and other librarians in producing research, presenting at conferences, both local and abroad as well as getting published in conference proceedings and journal articles. Together with an academic we have recently presented at a virtual conference in Spain and had our research paper published in the same conference proceedings. Our paper is titled: Learning experiences from interventions in learning academic writing – the creative mind student was presented at the 18th International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation held in Seville, Spain, 10th - 12th November 2025. I am currently working with a colleague on a paper titled: Creating inclusive library spaces for neurodivergent students: A case study of a private higher education institution. The same topic was presented at the LIASA conference in Gqeberha, 30th Sep – 03rd Oct 2025.
