Biography
Dr Lailah Imandin is the Deputy Dean Research at Emeris Vega School, where she leads and supports the strategy and development of researchers across the Vega School campuses. She holds a Master of Commerce in Management from the University of Natal (UKZN) and a PhD in Business Administration from North West University. With more than 20 years experience in higher education, Lailah has served as a senior academic and Academic Manager of Postgraduate Programmes and has extensive expertise in research development, assessment governance. She has supervised numerous master’s dissertations, examined Master’s and MBA research at several universities and contributes as a reviewer for several conferences. Her research focuses on strengthening research culture and engagement in private higher education institutions with particular interest in professional development and institutional support systems. Lailah is currently advancing a series of studies on drivers and barriers to research engagement among academics on PHEIs and continues to build initiatives aimed at cultivating a sustainable, collaborative research environment at Vega school.
