Biography
Jenna has worked in the Higher Education sector for 17 years and is currently finalising her PhD in Communication where she explores the empowerment potential of social media activism. Her academic background and professional experience have fostered a strong research interest in the intersections of communication, digital engagement and the evolving landscape of teaching and learning in tertiary institutions. Jenna has published several pieces in the field of Higher Education and has contributed a chapter to the academic textbook ‘Mindcraft: The Theory and Practice of Persuasive Communication’ (2023) and published a journal article ‘Quandaries of Contract Cheating in South African Higher Education Institutions: The Way Forward’ which was published in the South African Journal of Higher Education. Jenna’s current work reflects her commitment to addressing contemporary challenges in Higher Education and understanding the role of communication in fostering ethical, engaged and empowered academic communities.
