Biography

Denzyl Soobramoney Govender is a passionate computer science lecturer with over a decade of academic and industry experience in IT education. He is currently a full-time lecturer at IIE Varsity College, Durban North, and is pursuing a PhD in Educational Studies at the University of the Western Cape. His academic journey includes a Master of Education from the University of Johannesburg, with a research focus on AI adoption in STEM education. Denzyl’s teaching portfolio spans programming languages such as Java, C#, and VB.Net, and he has demonstrated leadership in quality assurance, curriculum development, and accreditation processes. He has authored peer-reviewed conference papers on AI in programming education and ICT integration in higher education. His ongoing research explores innovative approaches to experiential learning and student collaboration in IT education. As a member of SAARMSTE, Denzyl is actively engaged in promoting technology-enhanced learning within South Africa's higher education landscape.
