Water Polo is a national sport with clubs or partnerships at various campuses in Nelson Mandela Bay and Durban. Students from any one of the Emeris campuses can join the Emeris Sports Club and participate in Water Polo activities offered.
The highlight of the year is the annual USSA Water Polo Tournament where the club goes head-to-head with other SA universities and has achieved much success. Both our men’s and women’s teams participate in other ad hoc tournaments and leagues throughout the year where we test our metal against top clubs and provincial teams from around the country.
Swimming at Emeris boasts some of South Africa’s top swimmers. We select a strong team of swimmers from all our campuses to take part in the annual USSA Swimming Championship, where we have consistently delivered impressive results over the years. The focus is on competitive swimming only, as our student’s all swim competitively throughout the year at their various clubs based all over South Africa. Emeris only connect as a team for the annual USSA Swimming Champs. Our swimmers are monitored by our national Sport Coordinator to ensure they are all keeping fit, remaining competitive and are ready for the highly competitive USSA Swimming Champs where the Emeris team are up there with the best and often podium.
