Campus Team Sports Clubs

Campus Team Sports Clubs

Campus Team Sports can be social or competitive. Offerings per campus depend on available facilities and league participation, the full list of sports will be available during Sports Club Registration and on MyEmeris. Clubs include basketball, soccer, netball, hockey, cricket, volleyball and touch rugby. Most teams compete in local action and social outdoor leagues, or students enter their own teams into the internal Emeris leagues, which some campuses have. Our team sports offer a great way to meet other like-minded students in a fun sporty environment.

Basketball

Basketball is one of the most action packed sports that is accessible to all students and most of our campuses offer it by either entering teams into the local leagues or playing friendly matches. So, whether you’re shooting to score or gaining a rebound, Basketball at Emeris has a place for you. If you are interested in becoming a member of high-performance Emeris Basketball Club. See more on our National Sports Clubs.

Football – Outdoor and Action

Outdoor and/or Action Soccer is offered at a social level at all Emeris campuses. We enter the local action leagues for male and female students, however, often internal leagues are created for students by students competing for bragging rights at the end of each semester. If you are interested in becoming a member of high-performance Emeris Football Club. See more on our National Sports Club.

Netball – Outdoor and action

Outdoor Netball is played at some of our campuses where the teams enter into the local outdoor netball leagues and tournaments on offer. Action Netball is also enjoyed at most of our campuses, with teams being entered into leagues at the local action arenas. Some of our campuses also boast men’s/mixed netball teams. If you are interested in becoming a member of high-performance Emeris Netball Club. See more on our National Sports Club.

Action Cricket

Action Cricket is played at some of our campuses nationally. We find local leagues to enter our Emeris teams into, where students can enjoy the game at a more social level or test their limits in the more competitive leagues. If you are interested in becoming a member of high-performance outdoor Emeris Cricket Club. See more on our National Sports Club.

Hockey – Outdoor and indoor

Outdoor Hockey is enjoyed at some of our campuses where teams are entered into leagues and tournaments through partnering with local clubs in the area. Indoor Hockey is also played at some of our campuses where students enjoy the faster pace of playing in the local leagues on offer and in Nelson Mandela Bay and Sandton internal indoor leagues take place in brand new state-of-the-art Sports Centre. If you are interested in becoming a member of high-performance Emeris Hockey Club. See more on our National Sports Club.

Volleyball

Volleyball is one of the most popular and fast-growing sports amongst both our male and female students, offering a dynamic blend of athleticism, teamwork and strategy. At certain campuses, Volleyball is open to students, whether you're new to the game or looking to compete at a higher level. If you're looking to enjoy the game casually or push your limits in serious competition, Volleyball at Emeris provides the perfect environment to grow, compete and connect and learn new skills.

Touch Rugby

Touch rugby is one of the most exciting and accessible sports growing in popularity among students; blending speed, agility and teamwork in a fun, fast-paced format. At Emeris, touch rugby is offered at some of our campuses and welcomes all students, whether you're new to the game or eager to sharpen your competitive edge. Most campuses participate in local leagues offering both social and competitive and mixed teams for ladies and men.
