With this unification, we will enhance our ability to deliver exceptional higher education by consolidating resources and expertise.
Emeris is an original name, inspired by the words “Ephemeris”, which means the trajectory of celestial objects, which gives the notion of direction, and the Latin word “Emeritus”, which means “merit” and earned success. Together, the name symbolises our students’ path to success.
As the world changes rapidly, shaped by technology and new ways of working, Emeris is designed to help students remain ahead. We believe that success in the modern world isn’t just about what you know — it’s about how you think. That’s why Emeris is built on the promise to Think Forward.
To ensure that Emeris remains positioned to offer excellent standards in teaching, learning and student support, we will launch with five faculties: Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Science & Technology and Vega School.
This is more than a re-brand, it’s a reimagining. It’s education with direction – a deliberate shift towards a more dynamic, engaging and meaningful way of learning and one that answers the demands of a changing world and a new generation of students. At the same time, aspiring to be recognised as one of South Africa’s foremost private higher education providers, distinguished by its commitment to developing graduates who are not only knowledgeable, but also capable, confident, and fully prepared for the demands of their chosen careers.
